How we manage your money
Every year, hundreds of people and businesses generously donate money to help Addenbrooke’s remain at the forefront of medical care. It is our job to make sure that money is invested and spent carefully, and only for the purposes for which they were raised. We take it seriously and have a team of people devoted to getting it right.
Investment Committee
The Investment Committee oversees and advises on our investments and is accountable to the Trustees to whom they regularly report. There are also a number of professional advisors who work with us to ensure we are investing wisely and responsibly.
The Committee is responsible for making the charity’s money work hard, ensuring a return through investment. Funds are pooled for investment purposes in one of two pools, short-term and long-term, and are held in a variety of ways, for example:
- In a professionally managed portfolio of securities
- In residential property
- In bank deposits
The committee meets twice a year to review the performance of both pools and to consider any necessary changes.
