Corporate SUpporters Group
19 November 2008
On Wednesday 12 November local businesses joined ACT to take part in our first Corporate Supporters Group networking event.
The group has been set up for members to network and exchange ideas and information, opening the doors to new business contacts in the region. This first event was designed to stimulate and inspire guests into taking part in a discussion on how ACT can take their corporate relationship forward in the current climate and in view of the huge development which will take place on the Cambridge University Hospitals campus over the next decade.
A number of representatives from local business attended the event including Charles Hewitson from Hewitsons law firm, Michael Magnay from private bank Kleinwort Benson and Jane Winney from Ridgeons builders merchants.
The group heard presentations from Mr Richard King CBE, Chair of the meeting, Mr Stephen Graves, Director of Corporate Development at Cambridge University Hospitals, Professor David Neal, Professor of Surgical Oncology and Mr Peter Dalton, Director of Fundraising. Stephen Graves highlighted the size and scale of the forthcoming Campus development, and along with Professor David Neal, brought home the advantages of this facility for local people – 'world-class care on your doorstep'.
The next Corporate Supporters Group will be held in the first quarter of 2009. For more information contact Claire Billing on 01223 348464 or email claire.billing@addenbrookes.nhs.uk
