Addenbrooke’s director of fundraising wins excellence award
Peter Dalton, director of fundraising at Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust has won the Fundraising Institute of Australia’s Arthur Venn Award of Excellence 2008.
The Award given by the Fundraising Institute of Australia (Chapter 1) was established in 1997 to acknowledge the significant and highly valued contribution to the fundraising profession made by Arthur Venn since 1956. The aim of the Award is to honour outstanding contribution to fundraising in the state of Victoria, Australia, and increase the profile and visibility of philanthropy whilst acknowledging the recipient's outstanding attributes.
Peter Dalton is a former National President of the Fundraising Institute of Australia and was previously director of fundraising at Austin Health in Melbourne, Australia, responsible for AU$50million Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre Appeal. He said: “I’m absolutely delighted. Arthur was my mentor and it’s personally a great privilege to have won the award. Thank you.”
Keith Day, chief executive of Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, said: “Peter’s award is absolutely wonderful news. I wish him many, many congratulations. I am also much encouraged that since his appointment in June his vast range of experience in fundraising in Australia is already proving a real asset to Addenbrooke’s and is contributing to the ongoing excellence of the institution.”
