A Night at the opera
Tickets for this event have now sold out.
ACT is pleased to announce our most exclusive fundraising event for 2008 – A Night at the Opera – with members of Opera North at Trinity College, Cambridge.
Saturday 13th September 2008
The evening will include an original piece of operatic theatre, ‘Bizet – An Evening with Georges’, written by Geoff Druett of ITV, to be performed in Trinity College Chapel. A three course dinner will follow in Trinity College’s historic Great Hall.

Bizet – An Evening with Georges
The concert is based on the life of Bizet, and will be sung by members of the award-winning company Opera North who have kindly agreed to perform in Cambridge exclusively for ACT; this will only be the second time the concert has been performed in the UK. It offers a range of Bizet’s best loved music including The Pearl Fishers Duet, Habanera and The Flower Song. This is a rare opportunity to hear singers from one of the most respected opera companies in the country perform in Cambridge. ACT is also delighted to announce that renowned pianist Keith Swallow will be providing musical accompaniment at the concert.
The concert, will be narrated by Geoff Druett and Sue Lees from the chorus of Opera North, and performed by six singers. It will begin at 6.45pm, finishing at 8.15pm with dinner starting at 8.30pm and carriages at 11.00/11.30pm. The dress code will be strictly black tie.
