PICU
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Addenbrooke's is an eight-bed ward caring for sick children who need very close observation from doctors, nurses and other members of the PICU team.
Many of our patients are admitted as emergencies, or transfers from other wards at Addenbrooke's or other hospitals in the Eastern region and beyond.
Cate Stephens
Cate Stephens (27) had worked at Addenbrooke's Hospital since June 2003 and had been Cambridge RUFC's Head Physiotherapist from 2004. Cate had also provided physio services to Eastern Counties Rugby Union, Cambridge University RUFC and Spoons / Anti-Assassins sides to name just three. In September 2006, Cate was an innocent victim in a high-speed car crash in which she broke her neck. Tragically, Cate is now confined to a wheelchair.
